The Effect of His Work

He Extends His Hands and Reach Out
Read: Matthew 9 : 23 - 35
"And Jesus went about all the cities and village, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people."

The Effect of His Work
Jesus had come to this world with a purpose. His mission is to save the sinners and preach the gospel of salvation, and about the kingdom. His work varied from one ministry to the next ministry. In today's passage we can see how He demonstrate His authority by restoring our life, opening our eyes and enabling us to speak. We will also see how people responded to His work.

He Restores Our Life
Jesus has already told the certain ruler that His little girl is alive, but when they arrived at the house we can see that the people are still mourning over the girl and even laughed at Him to scorn.  And yet Jesus still raises the Girl back to life and had instructed those around to take care of her and feed her.

People may mock, ridicule and doubt Jesus on His ministry but He is still generous and gracious to demonstrate His love and compassion to those who are lost and dying. Even at the jaws of death, He can save us from total damnation.

The only respond appropriate is for us to be thankful, and tell others what have Jesus done to our life.

He Opens Our Eyes
He not only restores us back to life, He also opens our eyes to the truth. But in order for us to see the truth behind the mirage of lies the devil had made, we need to have faith in Him, that He can make us see.

Just as the blind men who had followed Him, Jesus asked them if they believe that He can make them see, not to feed Hid ego but to show them the truth, that by faith, their eyes will be opened because Jesus is the truth. And that by faith, they will know the truth.

When we have faith in Jesus, He will open our eyes to see the truth beyond the mysteries of life.

He Enables us to Speak
The devil had made us unable to speak and share to people about Jesus. As long as there are sin and doubts that clouds our hearts, we can never truly share the good news, the gospel of salvation. We need Jesus to cast out the devil so we can be freed from the bondage of sin and death.

The mute man who were demon possessed was finally able to speak when it was cast out. He was finally free to tell others what have Jesus done to him, for his life. Jesus had given him the freedom, He have enabled the man to speak.

When we surrendered everything at Jesus feet, all our cares, all our worries and all our fears, Jesus is more than willing and able to free us from these bondage and will empower us to speak, share and tell others of His wonderful and marvelous grace.

The Effect of His Work
PERSONAL APPLICATION
We have different response mechanism about things that happens in our lives, but here are some practical suggestions on how we should respond on God's mercy on our lives.
  1. Renew our minds - we need to renew our mind and strengthen our belief on who and what Jesus is to our lives and we need others to accomplish this. We can't do it alone, we are not a creature of solitude.
  2. Seek out the truth - our eyes will be opened when we seek out the Truth in our lives, we need to seek out Jesus, who is the Truth himself, daily so our eyes will be opened.
  3. Share the good news - tell others what have Jesus done to our lives lately. How he have provided for us, how he have given us wisdom and how he have been merciful and forgiving to our sins. People need to know these truths.
